Teacher and student Floyd County comments on integration
|

A WSLS reporter asked a Floyd County teacher how they felt about the
possibility of integration. Katharine Dobyns, a seventeen-year teaching veteran, thought
residents would act in the best interests of the county, and that she would continue to
teach if that meant integrated schools. 18-year-old senior Charles Truman proffered a more
pessimistic outlook; "I don't think it's gonna work."
