Interview with Lane High School Student
|
|
In Charlottesville, WSLS reporter asked Linda, a white Lane High School student, about
the "rightness or the wrongness" of integration. Although Linda was not completely
comfortable with integration, she said she would rather attend an integrated school in her
own town than travel to a segregated school. Charlottesville's schools were closed while
the School Board revised its plan for integration so Linda was forced to travel 25 miles
to a makeshift school established for whites.
