White Students Interviewed at Norview High
|
|
A WSLS reporter interviewed two white students from a group of whites assembled outside
Norwalk's Norview High School. The school had recently been reopened on an integrated
basis. The reporter revealed his bias for segregation when the younger student
prognosticated that intermarriage would occur in the coming generations. "Well that's not
a problem we have today," the reporter quipped. Suggesting how ingrained the separation of
the races was in the youth, a senior could not find words when asked to express why he
opposed segregation. "I don't know," he replied, "I just don't like it."
