(WSLS Television, Roanoke, VA)

No spoken word. Blurry file footage of Superintendent of Warren County schools Q.D. Gasque as he addressed the integration situation at Warren County High School in Front Royal where 22 blacks joined about 290 white students. Newsman were allowed to photograph the black students only through the bus windows and no newsman or photographers were allowed further than the foot of the hill to the school. Curiosity-seekers and spectators formed at each end of the street by the school but barricades had been set up to keep them from reaching the school property. No incidents occurred within the school and none had been expected but some students seemed to feel if they did not like the integrated school they could quit and enter a private high school. Gasque told WSLS news that a strict watch would be kept for the next few days to be certain no one got in the school to cause trouble.
