No spoken word. File footage after a confrontation on Main Street in downtown Salem.
Witnesses claimed four or five boys argued with a black man outside an Advance store. One
of the boys allegedly threw a cane at the man during the dispute and then fired several
gunshots. 20-year-old Gary Russell Furrow was struck in the abdomen by one of the bullets
and taken to the hospital. A Salem police officer arrived shortly after the incident and
fired several shots at the group of boys as they drove away in a car.
