Richard Poff on Kennedy Foreign Policy
|
|
Republican Congressman Richard Poff from Roanoke believed the foreign policy agenda of
the Kennedy administration had compromised American interests internationally. For
example, Poff said America had offended the Dutch by siding with a communist leader in
Indonesia, had offended Portugal by voting with the communist block in the United
Nations to condemn practices in Angola, and had offended Canada as well. Poff also
referred to American involvement in Vietnam as a "stalemated war."
