Gov. George Wallace Comments of the March on Washington
|
|
Alabama Governor George Wallace said the leadership of the March on Washington was
communist-inspired, and thus, not good for the country. In response to a question about
presidential politics, Wallace said a southern candidate could not win the White House
at that time. He went on to say that he would consider a run for the presidency if he
thought it would awaken the American people to the dangers of governmental control
emanating from Washington, DC.
