Danville Civil Rights Rally
|
|
Reverend Lawrence Campbell led a group of black residents in a spirited session of
freedom songs. At the conclusion of the singing, two black women walked to a microphone
and shared with the crowd a story of Danville police brutality they had personally
experienced and witnessed firsthand. A third women, obviously very shaken and concerned,
informed the crowd that her father and mother had been arrested.
