WDBJ Interview with Danville Mayor Julian Stinson
|
|
Danville Mayor Julian Stinson claimed that he did not know with whom to negotiate to
work toward a compromise. Stinson refused to compromise on the Danville Christian
Progressive Association demand asking city authorities to drop all charges against
protesters. Stinson used this point to suggest that demonstrators wanted special
dispensation from the law. Stinson's law and order statements largely avoided the
central issues of the demonstrations.
