Danville Demonstrations, "Freedom" Song
|
|
In the Danville protests, marches culminated with loud singing on the court house steps.
Demonstrators called and sang for "Freedom, Freedom, Freedom." Demonstrators gathered
below the bronze statue (which appears white in the film) of Mayor ----- who held the
office for over twenty years and defended the Lost Cause, segregation, and championed
Danville as a New South town.
