School Meeting in Charlottesville
|
|
Unidentified audience members passed a box filled with money around a meeting hall in
Charlottesville. One white man spoke to the audience about the lack of state support for
the city's schools in the school closing crisis. He said if the state of Virginia
refused to allocate taxes to the city of Charlottesville for the operation of schools,
then it would be "perfectly proper" for the city government to refuse to allocate its
taxes to the state and instead turn it over to the school board.
