Reverend Alexander Dunlap

Reverend Alexander Dunlap was one of the founders of the Danville Christian Progressive Association (DCPA) in 1960 during the sit-in movement to spark change in Danville. Dunlap arrived in Danville in 1959 from Farmville, Virginia and became pastor of Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was integral in the early DCPA years and in the initial protests, but he left in the fall of 1963 to assume the role of vice president at Kittrell College in North Carolina..
