J. Hugo Madison

J. Hugo Madison was a lawyer for the NAACP from Norfolk, Virginia. Madison served as member of the Norfolk Committee to Save Public Schools and challenged the Norfolk School Board's pupil assignment plans in federal district court in 1959-1960. In 1973 Madison purchased the Norfolk Journal and Guide, the prominent black newspaper in the region.
