E. J. Ogelsby

E. J. Ogelsby was a professor of mathematics at the University of Virginia. An avowed segregationist, Ogelsby helped found the Charlottesville chapter of the Defenders of State Sovereignty and Individual Liberties. In 1960 Governor J. Lindsay Almond appointed Ogelsby to the three-person State Pupil Placement Board which oversaw all transfers and placements of students in schools in the state as part of the massive resistance program to prevent integration in the schools.
