Welcome
The American Origins project works to strengthen the teaching of American history, its issues, episodes and turning points.
We offer a 3-year local program of professional training through a cohort of educators, known as the American Origins Teaching Fellows. This site is designed for them and provides news, information and media to accentuate classroom instruction and historical understanding.
The site will mirror the Fellows program by posting content from the
- Founding Era
- Civil War and Reconstruction
- Jim Crow and Civil Rights
