Still, the Evening Time

T.J.Sellers

Still, the summer's evening time,

Fragrant, refreshing, calm --

Nature's intermission between

Midday and the sunset's charm.

Birds seemingly sense the quiet,

Flying noiselessly by,

Pause perhaps in homage to nature,

Then take to the sky.

No breeze, not a leaf astir,

And faint sounds of beautiful chime

Playing soft, sweet notes of stillness

To summer's evening time.
